The Sicilian Slice

What We’re Listening To This Week

Steve’s got these on repeat:

Milk – NASAYA, Myra

Just a buttery smooth track, not much else to say other than it’s been on repeat. When it was first released, it received a lot of attention via Majestic Casual, which, if you don’t know about their music channel(s), you should check out if you enjoyed this track. Sort of like UKF but for chill vibes.

If You Let Me – Alina Baraz

Alina has been my go-to in-flight background music, especially on red-eyes, a must when traveling from the west coast back east. This track, similar to many of her others, is smooth, sexy, and relaxing. Alina is bae.

Floaty – Foo Fighters

Throwback. This is a Call ended up on my shuffle all queue the other day, so I decided to revisit this entire album. I will always be astounded that Dave wrote, produced, and played/recorded all the instruments himself. The Mighty Fighters of Foo will always hold a special place in my musical journey, starting with this album and this track specifically because it’s fantastic.

Gianca’s spinning:

Hippie Castle EP – Magic City Hippies

A 7ft Sicilian staple, if there isn’t a Magic City Hippies song in the slice, Steve & Gianca are sleeping with the fishes…

White Bronco – Action Bronson

Yeah, it’s true, the Lamborgini truck light blue, Gianca & Steve, yeah, we stuck like glue, one love for my 7ft Sicilians crew. I love this song and how Action floats over this beat; it’s phenomenal. The beat is austere, but the keys do it for me.

Rubble to Rubble – Wilderado

The harmonies, the story, and the underlying message behind this song make me smile. It’s just a beautiful track with a great acoustic play on it.

SONG OF THE WEEK

Four of a Kind – Magic City Hippies

IT’S A HIPPIES DOUBLE FEATURE…THIS TRACK HAS MORE BOOM THAN A DYNAMITE STORE.

Real talk, every track off the EP is fantastic, AND the vinyl includes two bonus tracks (Heart Wants & Hush), which are FIRE FLAMES. Highly recommend listening to the Hippies and hitting up one of their live shows; it was one of the best shows we saw this year, only to be potentially outdone by Turnstile.
