Erupting onto the scene, like the beginning of Jurassic Park, when they took the fucking blood from the mosquito with a dope needle…

What We’re Listening To This Week
Steve’s got these on repeat:
Laila, Pt. 1 – Agitation Free
Anything described as “experimental krautrock” is solid in my book
Home At Last – Steely Dan
Another one of Aja…I can’t stop listening to this album.
Cigarettes out the Window – TV Girl
TV Girl is the best and this whole album is a masterpiece. Also check out French Exit.
Gianca’s spinning:
Labyrinth – Taylor Swift
Been absolutely bumping this track all week; Taylor’s vocals, as she is storytelling, and the electronic production is a perfect match. Uh oh…
Bar Mediterraneo – Nu Genea
Some Italian music for ya ears. Nu Genea has been one of my favorite Italian findings as of late. Their beautiful instrumentation on this track makes me feel like I’m heading to the beach on a summer day.
Hey You – Pink Floyd
Have I been listening to The Wall or Echoes on my way to work and home every day this week? It’s too oddly specific to be a lie. But, Hey You is one of my favorite songs off The Wall. A story about a man who has isolated himself from the world and is wondering if he’s made the right decision. The main acoustic guitar, heavy bass line, and Waters and Gilmore’s reading verses are just masterful.
SONG OF THE WEEK
Szechuan Capital – Madlib / Meyhem Lauren /Action Bronson / Dj Muggs
MY HEART IS COLDER THAN EVER…my lord this song is FIRE FLAMES…hot off the presses Madlib, Meyhem, Muggs, and Bronsollino come together like your local hoagie spot’s famous Italian. The beat switch from Meyhem to Bronson’s verse is luscious, the lyrics slice like knives, and this is a certified BANGER.
