The Sicilian Slice

What We’re Listening To This Week

Steve’s got these on repeat:

Breathless – Alina Baraz

New Alina Baraz, I can not get enough of her music. Her voice would melt the coldest heart on Hoth.

Liquid Love – Roy Ayers, Sylvia Cox

The godfather of Acid Jazz, Roy Ayers is a problem. He has a litany of hits spanning the early 60s and remains a fixture to this day as his tracks are continually sampled. What a legend. Sylvia Cox graces the track with her sultry tone…liquid love.

Padam Padam – Kylie Minogue

My buddy Ezra put me onto this track the other day, definitely haven’t been following Kylie since I was a wee child, but damn this track bumps. Get yourself a set of bass heavy headphones or monitors and just let it rip.

Gianca’s spinning:

Fidelity – Regina Spektor

If you haven’t listened to Regina Spektor…you are missing out. Her very passionate vocals and meaningful songs are just heartwarming. This song always makes me think of someone very special to me 🙂

Us and Them – Pink Floyd

This is my favorite song off of The Dark Side of the Moon. I know that’s a polarizing discussion, but I can’t describe a song that feels like floating better than this one. The piano and saxophone on this one take over the entire track. It is such a beautiful song. I have no words.

Quake – Balance and Composure

SONG OF THE WEEK

AWKWARD CAR DRIVE – Germ, $uicideBoy$

Tickety-tock, go to clock in, your time’s up…Call it bad luck
